Cerner Invision Application Owner

Job Title: Systems Engineer - Cerner Invision Application Owner Duration: 12 months Location: Remote Specialty Justification: Specialty requisition due to the requirement for hands-on Envision application ownership experience. This skill set is highly specialized, requires expertise in stakeholder discovery, solution design, application strategy, and roadmap planning within the Envision platform. Position Summary • Seeking an experienced Invision Application Owner to serve as the strategic owner and subject matter expert for the Invision application platform. • Responsible for evaluating new requests, conducting discovery sessions, defining business requirements, supporting application strategy, and participating in project initiatives. • Leads application roadmap planning, product lifecycle management, and strategic growth initiatives while partnering with stakeholders to align technology solutions with business objectives. • Acts as the liaison between business stakeholders, informatics teams, vendors, and technical teams to ensure successful planning, design, and implementation of application solutions. • This role is focused on application ownership, strategy, governance, and solution design rather than application build, troubleshooting, or production support activities. Key Responsibilities • Lead the evaluation and implementation of Invision features to replace or enhance existing application functionality while ensuring alignment with current and future business processes. • Define and maintain the Invision product vision, roadmap, and growth strategy. • Identify opportunities for product conversion, innovation, optimization, and domain-specific enhancements. • Develop and manage the application roadmap, considering application lifecycle, strategic alignment, scalability, risk mitigation, and value delivery. • Review and evaluate incoming requests for new Invision functionality and enhancements. • Conduct discovery sessions with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements. • Participate in project meetings, discovery workshops, design sessions, planning discussions, and solution reviews. • Work as a member of multiple project teams simultaneously, supporting project planning and execution. • Review project requests describing Invision needs and provide estimates regarding effort, cost, resource needs, and implementation considerations. • Collaborate with vendors, market leaders, business stakeholders, informatics teams, and client partners to ensure cohesive planning and execution. • Represent the Invision application in governance forums and strategic planning discussions. • Communicate application, product, and technology roadmaps to stakeholders and leadership teams. • Provide subject matter expertise and recommendations regarding application capabilities, future-state design, and strategic direction. • Support application governance and organizational technology strategies. • Act as the primary Invision application owner and trusted advisor for application-related initiatives. Required Qualifications • 5-7 years of experience supporting Invision applications. • Experience implementing, optimizing, enhancing, or converting Invision functionality preferred. • Strong understanding of application ownership, product strategy, and roadmap development. • Experience gathering requirements, facilitating discovery sessions, and supporting solution design initiatives. • Ability to work independently and effectively manage priorities while contributing within a team environment. • Basic knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including: o Business and systems analysis o Requirements gathering o Functional specification development o Development and testing processes o Solution delivery and implementation • Experience supporting enterprise-level projects and cross-functional initiatives. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. • Ability to influence stakeholders and facilitate discussions across multiple business and technical teams. Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor's degree preferred. • Previous experience serving as an Application Owner, Product Owner, Business Analyst, Consultant, or similar strategic application leadership role. • Experience participating in governance, roadmap planning, and technology strategy initiatives.
