Custom website

TITLE:

Custom WordPress + WooCommerce Developer Needed to Rework Existing Ecommerce Site Into Premium Launch-Ready Website

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

I’m looking for an experienced WordPress/WooCommerce designer-developer to take over an existing staging website and improve/rework it into a professional, premium, fully functional ecommerce site that is ready to launch.

The brand is MolecuTide, a premium research-material company.

The site already exists and has a substantial amount of backend functionality built, but I am not happy with the overall execution yet. I want someone who can look at the site with a fresh set of eyes, identify what is working, what is not, and then make the necessary design, UX, mobile, WooCommerce, and technical improvements.

I am NOT looking for someone to simply change colors, fonts, or spacing.

I want someone who can take responsibility for the overall finished result.

GOAL:

The final website should:

- look premium and professional

- feel trustworthy and intentional

- have strong mobile UX

- have clean, consistent design throughout

- have smooth navigation and page flow

- have a high-quality ecommerce experience

- have all core WordPress/WooCommerce functionality working correctly

- be easy for a nontechnical owner to manage

- be launch-ready

CURRENT STACK:

- WordPress

- WooCommerce

- Pressable hosting

- Elementor / custom WordPress work

- Custom backend functionality already exists in parts of the site

WHAT I NEED YOU TO REVIEW AND IMPROVE:

DESIGN / FRONTEND

- homepage structure

- overall visual direction

- typography

- spacing

- hierarchy

- page flow

- section transitions

- navigation

- premium feel

- trust/credibility

- consistency across pages

- whether anything feels generic, templated, AI-generated, or unfinished

- whether any sections should be redesigned, rearranged, removed, or simplified

MOBILE

Mobile is one of my biggest concerns.

Please review and improve:

- mobile navigation

- homepage

- hero section

- catalog

- product cards

- product pages

- product images

- buttons

- spacing

- typography

- forms

- cart

- checkout

- account pages

- lot verification pages

- footer

The mobile version should feel intentionally designed, not like a desktop site compressed onto a phone.

WOOCOMMERCE / ECOMMERCE

Review and verify:

- products

- product variations

- pricing

- inventory

- stock status

- catalog organization

- search

- product pages

- cart

- checkout

- customer accounts

- order flow

- transactional emails

- shipping

- tracking

- payment gateway readiness

CUSTOM FUNCTIONALITY

The site includes or is intended to include custom functionality such as:

- dynamic product vial system

- editable material name and strength

- product visibility controls

- Lots & COAs backend

- current and historical lot management

- analytical document uploads

- Verify-a-Lot search

- permanent QR-code workflow

- Research Library

- 21+ entry gate

- checkout acknowledgments

- WooCommerce order metadata

- editable policy pages

I need someone who can review what is already built, identify what is incomplete or poorly implemented, and either fix or properly rebuild only the parts that genuinely need it.

BACKEND / ADMIN EXPERIENCE

I want WordPress/WooCommerce to function as the main business admin system.

From the backend I should be able to manage things such as:

- products

- variations

- pricing

- inventory

- orders

- customers

- customer accounts/sign-ups

- lots

- COAs

- analytical documents

- product visibility

- featured products

- Research Library

- policies

- shipping

- site content

Normal day-to-day operations should not require coding or developer assistance.

TECHNICAL / LAUNCH READINESS

Please review:

- broken links

- forms

- responsive issues

- loading speed

- image optimization

- plugin setup

- security

- backups

- SEO

- analytics readiness

- indexing

- browser compatibility

- accessibility basics

- staging/live configuration

- unfinished/demo content

- technical errors

- WooCommerce configuration

IMPORTANT:

I do NOT want someone to automatically recommend a full rebuild just because that is easier.

I also do NOT want someone who is afraid to rebuild a section if it genuinely needs to be rebuilt.

I want an experienced professional who can make that judgment correctly.

BEFORE QUOTING:

I will provide the staging link.

Please review the site first and tell me:

1. What is working well

2. What is not working well

3. What you would change

4. What you would leave alone

5. What needs redesign

6. What needs technical repair

7. What is incomplete

8. What is critical before launch

9. What is optional

10. Whether you believe the current build can be improved or whether specific areas need to be rebuilt

THEN PLEASE PROVIDE:

- recommended scope of work

- fixed-price quote

- estimated timeline

- milestones

- what is included

- what is excluded

- number of revisions

- any plugin or software costs

- whether you personally handle both design and development

- examples of similar WordPress/WooCommerce work

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

- strong WordPress experience

- strong WooCommerce experience

- high-end ecommerce design experience

- excellent mobile UX skills

- comfortable with custom WordPress functionality

- able to work with existing code instead of always starting over

- strong attention to detail

- able to explain technical decisions clearly

- able to finish and launch the site, not just provide recommendations

U.S.-based is preferred, but I am open to exceptional candidates elsewhere.

Please include examples of ecommerce sites you personally designed or improved and briefly explain what you changed on them.

The goal is simple:

I want the finished MolecuTide website to look right, feel right, operate correctly, and be something I am comfortable launching as a serious premium business.

Common Interview Questions And Answers

1. HOW DO YOU PLAN YOUR DAY?

This is what this question poses: When do you focus and start working seriously? What are the hours you work optimally? Are you a night owl? A morning bird? Remote teams can be made up of people working on different shifts and around the world, so you won't necessarily be stuck in the 9-5 schedule if it's not for you...

2. HOW DO YOU USE THE DIFFERENT COMMUNICATION TOOLS IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS?

When you're working on a remote team, there's no way to chat in the hallway between meetings or catch up on the latest project during an office carpool. Therefore, virtual communication will be absolutely essential to get your work done...

3. WHAT IS "WORKING REMOTE" REALLY FOR YOU?

Many people want to work remotely because of the flexibility it allows. You can work anywhere and at any time of the day...

4. WHAT DO YOU NEED IN YOUR PHYSICAL WORKSPACE TO SUCCEED IN YOUR WORK?

With this question, companies are looking to see what equipment they may need to provide you with and to verify how aware you are of what remote working could mean for you physically and logistically...

5. HOW DO YOU PROCESS INFORMATION?

Several years ago, I was working in a team to plan a big event. My supervisor made us all work as a team before the big day. One of our activities has been to find out how each of us processes information...

6. HOW DO YOU MANAGE THE CALENDAR AND THE PROGRAM? WHICH APPLICATIONS / SYSTEM DO YOU USE?

Or you may receive even more specific questions, such as: What's on your calendar? Do you plan blocks of time to do certain types of work? Do you have an open calendar that everyone can see?...

7. HOW DO YOU ORGANIZE FILES, LINKS, AND TABS ON YOUR COMPUTER?

Just like your schedule, how you track files and other information is very important. After all, everything is digital!...

8. HOW TO PRIORITIZE WORK?

The day I watched Marie Forleo's film separating the important from the urgent, my life changed. Not all remote jobs start fast, but most of them are...

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?

This is a great question because it shows your comfort level with technology, which is very important for a remote worker because you will be working with technology over time...
