Data Analyst Internship

This is a cross-disciplinary role, both instructional and technical. You'll engage with our team of educators to validate and iterate the models that drive our analytics. Our Data Analysts develop an understanding of our algorithms, the technologies and platforms that support our products, and our proprietary educational content. This knowledge will then be synthesized into actionable tests to build modules that will assist in identifying the academic needs of each individual student. You will engage with team members that think outside of the box, with the goal of improving education through the creation of a data infrastructure and insightful analytics.<br><br><strong>Requirements<br><br></strong><strong>What we are looking for:<br><br></strong><ul><li>Core skills</li><li> You enjoy creative problem solving and working with messy, real-world data. </li><li> You have strong math/quantitative skills and excellent attention to detail. </li><li> You are curious about how data can improve learning and student outcomes. </li><li>Academic & technical background</li><ul><li>You are studying (or have studied) Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. </li><li> You have some coding experience and a strong interest in technology and AI. </li><li> You have experience with at least one of the following: </li><li> SQL, Python data tools (Pandas, NumPy, or similar) </li><li> Building simple data pipelines or analysis scripts in Python </li></ul><li>Excel & analysis skills</li><li> You are comfortable doing serious work in Excel, including several of the following:</li><li> Advanced formulas and functions </li><li> Tables and formatting </li><li> Conditional formatting </li><li> Advanced charting and visualizations </li><li> Pivot tables and pivot reporting </li><li> Using Excel productively for analysis, not just basic spreadsheets </li><li> Data tables, simulations, and Solver </li><li> (Bonus) VBA and macros </li><li>AI, data, and analytics work you will support</li><li> Work with AI tools and workflows to support data-driven decision-making </li><li> Perform data mining and cleaning from multiple sources (web, internal trackers, marketing platforms) </li><li> Support projects involving AI and chatbot development for ConnectPrep's programs and website </li><li> Conduct SEO and keyword research to identify growth opportunities and track performance </li><li> Analyze website analytics (traffic, engagement, conversions) and prepare simple dashboards or summary reports </li><li> Assist with data analysis for marketing campaigns, content performance, and business operations </li><li> Help test, document, and iterate on new data and AI workflows as they are developed </li><li>Nice to have</li><li> Prior internship or project experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or marketing analytics </li><li> Familiarity with web analytics and marketing tools (for example, Google Analytics, GA4, Search Console, Looker Studio, or similar platforms) </li><li> Experience visualizing data in tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Data Studio </li><li> Experience working with SEO tools or keyword platforms </li><li> Experience collaborating in remote or hybrid teams (Slack, Zoom, project management boards)<br><br></li></ul><strong>Benefits<br><br></strong><strong>Why join ConnectPrep?<br><br></strong><ul><li>Get in on the ground floor of an exciting new company, with the potential to help shape our direction</li><li>Be involved with a team that has bold ideas, with the goal of reinventing education across the globe</li><li>Gain valuable experience, meet technology innovators, and learn about the business side of our company<br><br></li></ul><strong>Sound Interesting?<br><br></strong>Please submit your resume and letter of interest at careers@connectprep.com.<br><br>All applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.
