Position Brief: Overnight Last-Mile Delivery Specialist

At Amazon, the final segment of our vast supply chain is where our unwavering commitment to the customer is physically realized, even while the city sleeps. We are actively collaborating with our premier Delivery Service Partners (DSPs) to secure high-performing, safety-oriented individuals for the position of 3rd Shift DSP Route Driver. This is not a conventional logistics role; it is a highly autonomous, nocturnal, metric-driven position that places you at the helm of our modern delivery fleet during the graveyard hours. You are the ultimate executor of the Amazon promise, tasked with securely transporting and delivering a high volume of consumer goods to residential, commercial, and industrial destinations under the cover of darkness. This role demands a profound dedication to vehicular safety in low-visibility conditions, strict adherence to algorithmic routing protocols, and the physical endurance to manage high-velocity freight handling on a daily basis. If you seek driving jobs that offer supreme independence away from daytime traffic gridlock, structural stability, and premium night-shift differentials, this is your premier entry point into the logistics sector.

Core Operational Directives

Your primary mandate is the safe, accurate, and timely execution of a meticulously planned overnight delivery route. You will operate an Amazon-branded commercial transit van, utilizing proprietary telematics and routing software to achieve optimal efficiency.

  • Nocturnal Telematics & Vehicular Safety: Command your assigned vehicle with absolute adherence to local and federal traffic statutes. You must maintain elite safety metrics as monitored by onboard artificial intelligence cameras (e.g., Netradyne), ensuring zero harsh braking, strict speed limit compliance, and appropriate following distances at all times, which is especially critical in low-light and nighttime conditions.
  • Algorithmic Route Adherence: Execute your daily manifest by strictly following the GPS-guided routing provided on your company-issued mobile device. You must adapt instantly to digital reroutes caused by overnight road closures or network-level logistical shifts.
  • Stealth Freight Management: Perform the rigorous physical labor required to load, sort, and deliver hundreds of packages nightly. You must execute deliveries with strict noise discipline to avoid waking customers, utilizing ergonomic lifting techniques to move parcels weighing up to 50 pounds, navigating environmental obstacles such as unlit staircases, extended driveways, and uneven terrain.
  • Data Integrity & Proof of Delivery: Ensure perfect data accuracy at every stop. You must scan every parcel barcode, accurately log the delivery location (e.g., front porch, mailroom, secure locker), and capture high-resolution photographic evidence using camera flash to satisfy our customer guarantee protocols.

Workplace Dynamics & Environment

This is a heavily outdoor, independent operational role operating entirely on the 3rd shift. Your shift will commence late at night at a high-volume Delivery Station where you will interface briefly with dispatch management and load-out matrices. Following the 20-minute load-out window, you will spend the remaining 8 to 10 hours of your shift entirely on the road. You must be prepared to operate your vehicle and execute physical deliveries in all nocturnal weather conditions, dealing with cooler ambient temperatures and complete isolation from typical daytime traffic. You will be provided with high-visibility reflective safety apparel and tactical flashlights, and must adhere to strict uniform standards to represent the Amazon brand professionally in the public sphere.

Financial Portfolio & Comprehensive Benefits

We believe in compensating our 3rd shift logistics professionals with a robust, highly competitive yearly structure designed to support long-term career stability and reward non-traditional hours:

  • Premium Yearly Compensation Structure: Receive a highly attractive, predictable yearly salary base, heavily fortified by 3rd shift differentials and performance bonuses tied directly to your safety scores, delivery completion rates, and customer feedback metrics.
  • Elite Health Security: Gain access to top-tier medical, dental, and vision insurance networks effective rapidly upon your employment start date, ensuring comprehensive coverage for you and your dependents.
  • Wealth Accumulation: Participate in a structured 401(k) retirement savings plan featuring employer-matching contributions designed to accelerate your long-term financial security.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO): Accrue generous paid leave from your first day of operation, allowing for necessary recuperation and work-life balance to maintain a healthy nocturnal sleep schedule.

Candidate Criteria & Qualifications

To be considered for this elite 3rd shift logistics position, candidates must meet the following strict criteria: You must be a minimum of 21 years of age. You must possess a valid, active state driver's license paired with an impeccable motor vehicle record (MVR) devoid of major infractions. You must demonstrate the physical capacity to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds, execute hundreds of deep squats and bends per shift, and walk several miles nightly. A comprehensive background investigation and a 5-panel drug screening are mandatory prerequisites for employment.
