The Director of Engineering for Field Applications (FA) is a senior leadership role that bridges technical product development with customer-facing sales support. This position is responsible for leading a team of customer facing technical resources, assist customers with design-in activities, facilitate troubleshooting activities, and contribute to the validation of power supplies (AC-DC, DC-DC, converters) in application. This leader drives technical solutions, aligns product roadmaps with customer needs, and ensures high-level support for accounts in sectors like data centers, AI, and industrial power.
Are You Looking To:
Leadership & Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of FAEs, fostering a culture of technical excellence and customer focus.
Strategic Technical Support: Act as a technical interface for strategic customers, helping to fit solutions to applications.
Customer Engagement & Design Wins: Collaborate with sales teams to influence design decisions, perform schematic reviews, and drive the adoption of company power solutions.
Product Feedback & Strategy: Provide actionable market intelligence to product engineering and marketing teams to define future product roadmaps and improve existing power products.
Troubleshooting & Validation: Oversee lab-based testing (transients, efficiency, thermal management) and debug complex power issues for customers.
Are You Ready To:
Own department budgets and technical resources, driving process improvement and defining best practices for documentation and technical support
Apply deep expertise in power supply topologies (half-bridge, full-bridge, LLC, Flyback) and power semiconductors (MOSFET/IGBT, SiC/GaN)
Lead hands-on bench-level debugging using modern test tools and instrumentation to solve complex technical issues
Drive end-to-end execution across product development, project management, and product qualification processes
Build and maintain strong customer technical relationships, serving as a trusted technical partner
Job Requirements:
What You'll Need:
Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in power electronics, with 5+ years in a leadership role (managing FAEs or applications engineers).
What You'll Get:
Base salary range: $131,000 - $197,000. The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors
