<strong>About The Role & Program<br><br></strong>Working at ESPN means helping shape how sports fans experience the biggest moments in sports across every platform. From breaking news and live events to studio shows and original storytelling, ESPN reaches millions of fans each day through social media, television, streaming, and digital platforms.<br><br><strong>Skills<br><br></strong>We are looking for interns to join one or more of our exciting social teams! Each role offers hands‑on experience creating content for millions of fans across ESPN’s digital platforms. Candidates may be considered for more than one opportunity based on skills and experience. Areas of placement may include:<br><br><ul><li>ESPN NEXT Show Social</li><li>ESPN Social Media</li><li>ESPN Digital Video Social Content<br><br></li></ul>The approximate dates for these remote internships are <strong>January</strong> <strong>– May 2027</strong>.<br><br><strong>What You Will Do<br><br></strong><ul><li>Plan, create, and optimize content across Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, YouTube, Snapchat, and ESPN‑owned platforms</li><li>Support social coverage of ESPN shows by identifying key moments and producing platform‑specific content</li><li>Clip, edit, and design short‑form videos and graphics using industry‑standard tools</li><li>Write engaging social copy including captions, headlines, and content packaging</li><li>Monitor trends and sports storylines to surface timely, relevant content opportunities</li><li>Apply editorial judgment and ESPN’s voice while collaborating with production, editorial, and social teams<br><br></li></ul><strong>Required Qualifications & Skills<br><br></strong><ul><li>Demonstrated interest in social, sports, or digital media through coursework, campus involvement, personal projects, or prior experience</li><li>Strong understanding of major social platforms and how content performs across each</li><li>Solid sports knowledge across athletes, teams, leagues, events, and trending storylines</li><li>Excellent writing and communication skills with the ability to craft platform‑appropriate content</li><li>Strong editorial judgment and attention to detail grounded in accuracy and responsible publishing</li><li>Basic experience with video editing or content creation tools and the ability to collaborate in a fast‑paced environment<br><br></li></ul><strong>Preferred Qualifications & Skills<br><br></strong><ul><li>Experience creating or managing social content for platforms, student groups, personal channels, or media outlets</li><li>Familiarity with video editing software such as Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, or similar tools</li><li>Ability to design or edit social graphics using Photoshop or comparable creative software</li><li>Understanding of social analytics and audience insights to help evaluate performance</li><li>Experience researching and pitching content ideas that support creative and editorial needs</li><li>Ability to adapt quickly in a deadline‑driven environment while staying current on emerging trends and creator strategies<br><br></li></ul><strong>Education<br><br></strong><ul><li>Senior year preferred </li><li>Major or previous coursework in Broadcast Journalism, Sports Media, Communications or related major preferred <br><br></li></ul><strong>Recruitment Timeline<br><br></strong><ul><li>Applicants will receive updates throughout the selection process, with communication taking place between October and November. </li><li>Candidates selected to move forward will be notified of the specific internship opportunity for which they are being considered.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Additional Documents<br><br></strong><ul><li>A cover letter indicating your top area (s) of interests preferred </li><li>A portfolio showcasing your editing skills. This can be links to your work or a Gondola portfolio.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Eligibility Requirements & Program Information<br><br></strong><strong>Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements: <br><br></strong><ul><li>Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.</li><li>Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program. </li><li>Be at least 18 years of age</li><li>Possess unrestricted work authorization <br><br></li></ul><strong>Additional Information<br><br></strong><ul><li>Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship </li><li>This internship is a remote position and requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace </li><li>Available to work different shifts including nights and weekends, for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week <br><br></li></ul>The pay rate for this remote role is $23.00 per hour.
