<p><strong>Location:</strong> United Kingdom (Home Based)<br><strong>Type:</strong> Permanent<br><strong>Salary:</strong> Competitive + Bonus + Benefits</p><p>We are supporting an innovative international technology company operating within the life sciences and laboratory automation space as they look to hire a <strong>Field Service Engineer</strong> in the UK.</p><p>This is an exciting opportunity to join a business delivering cutting-edge robotic and automated systems used by biotechnology, pharmaceutical and research organisations to improve efficiency, accuracy and workflow performance.</p><p>Working remotely and travelling to customer sites across the UK, you will be responsible for installation, servicing, fault finding, upgrades and customer support across a range of advanced electromechanical systems.</p><h2>Key Responsibilities</h2><ul><li><p>Install, commission and calibrate automated laboratory equipment at customer locations</p></li><li><p>Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical and system faults</p></li><li><p>Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive service visits</p></li><li><p>Support system upgrades, relocations and hardware improvements</p></li><li><p>Deliver user training on equipment operation and basic software functionality</p></li><li><p>Maintain accurate service records, reports and documentation</p></li><li><p>Build strong customer relationships through professional on-site support</p></li><li><p>Manage spare parts stock and field inventory effectively</p></li><li><p>Work closely with internal technical teams to resolve more complex issues</p></li></ul><h2>Requirements</h2><ul><li><p>Experience in a Field Service Engineer, Service Technician or similar customer-facing engineering role</p></li><li><p>Background in automation, robotics, instrumentation, laboratory equipment, medical devices or related machinery</p></li><li><p>Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical and electrical systems</p></li><li><p>Comfortable working independently in the field</p></li><li><p>Good communication and customer service skills</p></li><li><p>Basic networking / communications knowledge (TCP/IP, serial comms etc.) advantageous</p></li><li><p>Relevant engineering qualification (HNC, apprenticeship, ONC, NVQ or equivalent)</p></li><li><p>Full UK driving licence</p></li><li><p>Willingness to travel regularly with overnight stays where required</p></li></ul><h2>Desirable</h2><ul><li><p>Experience with robotic systems or automated handling equipment</p></li><li><p>Exposure to life sciences, pharma or laboratory environments</p></li><li><p>Software / controls troubleshooting experience</p></li></ul><h2>Why Apply?</h2><ul><li><p>Join a growing specialist technology business in an exciting sector</p></li><li><p>Work with advanced automation and robotics systems</p></li><li><p>Strong autonomy and field-based flexibility</p></li><li><p>Excellent long-term career development opportunities</p></li><li><p>Supportive international engineering team</p></li></ul><p>For a confidential discussion or to apply, please get in touch.</p>
