If you have a deep understanding of the Umbraco ecosystem and thrive in a fast-paced support environment, we want to hear from you.</span><br><br><span>As a freelancer booked on a project, you will work closely with our Digital Project and Client teams to support, maintain and build high-performance websites. While we are open to freelancers working with us <strong>remotely</strong>, you must be available to work during UK business hours to collaborate with our project and technical teams.</span><br><br><span>Please note: You will need to be set up as a self-employed freelancer to undertake project work with us.</span><br><br><span><strong>Type: Freelance contract</strong></span><br><span><strong>Timings: Flexible</strong></span><br><span><strong>Location: Remote</strong></span></p></div><h2>Key Responsibilities:</h2><ul><li><p><span>Write clean, scalable, maintainable code following team conventions and best practices - our aim is to deliver high-quality code, so it is important to understand best-practice code structure as well as performance and security</span></p></li><li><p><span>Ensure that tasks are completed on time and to specification, and are performant and secure</span></p></li><li><p><span>Participate in regular code reviews and take and give constructive feedback</span></p></li><li><p><span>Contribute to technical planning, estimation, progress meetings and standards</span> </p></li></ul><h2>Required Skills and Experience:</h2><ul><li><p><span>3+ years of professional back-end development experience</span></p></li><li><p><span>Write clean, scalable and efficient code in C# with an understanding of MVC architecture</span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience with Umbraco and Optimizely CMS</span></p></li><li><p><span>Familiarity with version control (GIT) and common workflows (feature branches, pull requests)</span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience with profiling and troubleshooting applications</span></p></li><li><p><span>Familiarity with Azure Portal</span></p></li><li><p><span>SQL Management Studio and basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL</span></p></li><li><p><span>An understanding of good security practice, including OWASP vulnerabilities</span></p></li><li><p><span>An understanding of blue-green deployment model</span></p></li><li><p><span>A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn</span></p></li></ul><h2>It’s a Bonus if You Have:</h2><ul><li><p><span>Experience with Azure DevOps</span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience using security testing tools</span></p></li><li><p><span>Node/JavaScript</span> </p></li></ul><h2>Next Steps</h2><p>If you are successfully shortlisted for the role, the recruitment team will be in touch via email, and the process will begin from there.
