Key aspects of our internship program include learning and professional development, social and networking events, and volunteer opportunities.What you'll do:You will build and enhance your knowledge in software development methodologies, principles, practices, and the software development lifecycle. You will perform development activities within the team, including but not limited to:Developing new featuresIdentifying, fixing, and documenting bugsParticipating in peer code reviewsContributing to team knowledge baseAnalyzing and designing software and configuration changesLearn about ProLiant servers and hardware configurationsYou will gain exposure and growth expertise on a wide variety of cutting-edge technologies while being involved in delivering business-critical projects. You will work closely with our QA, DevOps, Software Development engineers and architects.The technology:Programming languages like Python, C, Golang, Rust or othersBash scriptinggRPC, REST APIInfrastructure as code (Ansible), GitHub version control etc.Locations:Houston, TXYour Background:Minimum age 16Must have completed Junior year of High SchoolKnowledge of at least one programming language like Java, Python, or GolangA familiarity with and understanding of design for software systems running on multiple platform typesYou will write code and complete programming by using current programming languages and technologiesYou will perform testing and debugging of applicationsYou will complete documentation and procedures for installation and maintenanceYou will interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modificationsYou will effectively communicate product architectures and design proposalsYou will collaborate with peers, engineers, technicians, and external design partnersYou will typically interact with high-level individual contributors, managers, and program core teamsPreferred Background:Experienced in software application design tools, experienced in programming languages, and ideally have some awareness of developing for LinuxThe drive to seek out what's next and to deliver exceptional resultsA collaborative, solution focused spirit and overall sense of urgencyExperience as an active leader on campus who strives to make a positive impact on the worldComfort with working in a hybrid (virtual and face-to-face) environmentExceptional communication and presentation skills and the ability to ask smart questionsHPE complies with all Federal, State and local laws regarding employment of minors under the age of 18.
