Independent Recruiter / Headhunter

Independent Recruiter / Headhunter – Director of Sales, Industrial Distribution

We are seeking an experienced independent recruiter to support a targeted search for a Director of Sales at Sealcon, based in Centennial, Colorado.

Sealcon is an established technical distribution business supplying cable management products, cable glands, industrial connectors and enclosures, alongside value-added services including kitting and light assembly.

The Director of Sales will report directly to the CEO and lead an inside and outside sales team of approximately eight to ten people. We need a hands-on leader who can grow customer relationships, develop new business, strengthen distributor channels, coach the team and improve the use of CRM and sales tools.

We are open to established Sales Directors and strong regional or national sales managers ready to take on broader responsibility.

Candidate compensation:

• Base salary of $155,000–$170,000.

• Annual performance incentive targeting approximately 25% of base salary, with additional upside above plan.

• Health, dental and vision benefits, 401(k) matching, paid time off and holidays.

The search assignment

Working directly with the CEO, you will:

• Develop a focused search plan using our job description and example target companies and customer accounts.

• Identify suitable candidates in technical distribution, electrical products, industrial components, automation and related businesses.

• Proactively approach candidates, including people not actively looking for a new role.

• Conduct initial screening calls to assess relevant experience, interest, compensation expectations, location and availability.

• Present suitable candidates with a résumé or profile and a concise screening summary.

• Maintain a shared candidate tracker and provide weekly progress updates.

• Coordinate initial interviews with the CEO.

Your screening should establish evidence of profitable sales growth, leadership of sales teams, distributor and direct OEM experience, personal involvement in winning business, and successful improvements to CRM or sales processes.

We will manage final interviews and the hiring decision internally.

Recruiter requirements

Please apply if you have:

• Experience recruiting sales leaders for US industrial, manufacturing or technical distribution businesses.

• A record of proactive candidate sourcing and headhunting.

• The ability to conduct credible screening conversations with senior commercial candidates.

• Access to your own recruiting and candidate research tools.

• Clear communication and disciplined reporting.

We expect the recruiter selected for this assignment to remain personally involved in outreach and screening. Please disclose any proposed subcontracting.

To apply, please provide:

Two or three relevant sales leadership searches you have completed, including industry, role and outcome.

Your proposed approach to this assignment.

The tools you use and whether their costs are included.

Your hourly rate, availability and estimated hours for an initial two-week pilot.

This is what this question poses: When do you focus and start working seriously? What are the hours you work optimally? Are you a night owl? A morning bird? Remote teams can be made up of people working on different shifts and around the world, so you won't necessarily be stuck in the 9-5 schedule if it's not for you...

2. HOW DO YOU USE THE DIFFERENT COMMUNICATION TOOLS IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS?

When you're working on a remote team, there's no way to chat in the hallway between meetings or catch up on the latest project during an office carpool. Therefore, virtual communication will be absolutely essential to get your work done...

3. WHAT IS "WORKING REMOTE" REALLY FOR YOU?

Many people want to work remotely because of the flexibility it allows. You can work anywhere and at any time of the day...

With this question, companies are looking to see what equipment they may need to provide you with and to verify how aware you are of what remote working could mean for you physically and logistically...

5. HOW DO YOU PROCESS INFORMATION?

Several years ago, I was working in a team to plan a big event. My supervisor made us all work as a team before the big day. One of our activities has been to find out how each of us processes information...

6. HOW DO YOU MANAGE THE CALENDAR AND THE PROGRAM? WHICH APPLICATIONS / SYSTEM DO YOU USE?

7. HOW DO YOU ORGANIZE FILES, LINKS, AND TABS ON YOUR COMPUTER?

Just like your schedule, how you track files and other information is very important. After all, everything is digital!...

8. HOW TO PRIORITIZE WORK?

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?

This is a great question because it shows your comfort level with technology, which is very important for a remote worker because you will be working with technology over time...
