Role Overview & Responsibilities

As a UPS Part-Time Warehouse Sorter, you work a dedicated 3.5 to 5 hour sort shift inside our package center, reading destination labels and routing packages across high-speed conveyor systems with the accuracy that UPS customers depend on for every delivery.

  • Label Reading & Diversion: Rapidly identify destination zip codes and routing codes on packages traveling down moving conveyor belts, physically diverting each parcel to the correct outbound chute with zero hesitation and consistent accuracy.
  • Chute Overflow Management: Monitor assigned outbound chutes for overflow conditions, pulling full containers and replacing them immediately to maintain continuous sort flow throughout the peak belt window.
  • Jam Clearance: Identify and clear package jams on conveyor lines immediately upon detection, communicating any recurring mechanical issues to the shift supervisor before they impact sort velocity targets.
