Remote Music Transcriptionist Be Part of a Movement that Amplifies Musical Precision Are you passionate about transforming live or recorded music into flawless notation? Do you dream of working remotely while contributing to an exciting, fast-growing company reshaping how music is archived, shared, and performed globally? Here's your opportunity to make an impact. We are seeking an experienced Remote Music Transcriptionist ready to take charge of their future by supporting composers, performers, and content creators worldwide. Our journey began with a simple goal: to preserve the integrity of musical performances by translating them into readable, editable sheet music. As our platform has grown, so has our mission. Today, we empower musicians, educators, and entertainment brands through innovative audio-to-score conversion. This role is instrumental in upholding artistic accuracy and accessibility, propelling our creative ecosystem forward. What You’ll Be Responsible For Core Responsibilities Convert audio files, recordings, or live performances into precise musical notation using transcription software. Interpret complex polyphonic textures, jazz improvisations, orchestral arrangements, or vocal melodies and produce accurate transcriptions. Apply music theory knowledge to ensure harmonies, rhythms, and dynamics are correctly represented. Communicate with clients and team members to confirm expectations, clarify style requirements, and meet project goals. Edit and revise transcriptions based on feedback to ensure final results meet high professional standards. Maintain file organization, naming consistency, and version control throughout transcription projects. Meet recurring deadlines while maintaining precision and attention to sonic detail. Collaborative Contributions Participate in remote brainstorming sessions to enhance transcription workflows and improve efficiency. Provide insights on advanced music editing tools and suggest upgrades or plugins for optimal results. Share creative input when adapting sheet music for various formats, such as lead sheets, orchestral scores, or MIDI transcriptions. Where You'll Work: Your Studio, Your Rules This is a 100% remote position. Whether you prefer a cozy home setup, a bustling co-working hub, or a soundproof studio, you decide what environment suits your workflow best. We prioritize flexibility and trust, giving you the freedom to manage your workspace and schedule around your most productive hours. Collaboration is fully digital. All communication, assignments, and submissions happen via secure cloud platforms—no commute, no cubicles—just you and your passion for musical accuracy. Tools and Tech That Empower You Notation Software: Finale, Sibelius, MuseScore, Dorico, or Noteflight (your choice!) DAWs & Audio Analysis Tools: Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Reaper, Ableton Live, Melodyne File Sharing & Project Management: Google Drive, Dropbox, Trello, Slack Optional Add-ons: MIDI controllers, virtual instruments, and audio spectrum analyzers to enrich your process We encourage the use of any personal gear or software that enhances your transcription workflow. You're in control of your toolkit. Skills That Set You Apart We’re looking for someone who not only hears music but feels its structure. If you instinctively recognize time signatures, catch subtle pitch variations, or appreciate the tension behind chord voicings, this role is for you. Required Qualifications Proven experience in music transcription, notation editing, or music engraving Advanced knowledge of music theory, harmony, rhythm, and arrangement techniques Proficiency in at least one notation program and one audio editing tool Ability to accurately identify musical elements such as key, meter, tempo, phrasing, and dynamics Keen ear for detail, especially in multi-instrumental or dense musical textures Strong written communication and time-management skills Preferred Attributes Background in audio engineering or score preparation Experience working with clients remotely or in collaborative creative projects Familiarity with a range of genres—classical, jazz, pop, hip-hop, film scores, and more Competence in reading both concert pitch and transposing instruments Willingness to tackle both short and long-form transcription projects What You Gain: Benefits That Matter We value the professionals who dedicate their skills to precision work like this. That’s why we offer a supportive environment filled with perks that enhance your career and wellbeing: Annual salary: $48,655 (paid monthly) Flexible scheduling: Choose your working hours Project-based bonuses for urgent or complex tasks Access to premium music software subscriptions Invitations to virtual jam sessions and music theory workshops Supportive remote team culture built around transparency and creativity Career advancement opportunities for high-performing contributors The Impact You Make Your work ensures composers can share their vision, producers can fine-tune scores, and educators can pass on the magic of music with clarity. Each transcription you complete brings structure to inspiration and transforms sound into a universal language. Whether it's turning a jazz sax solo into a printed page or helping orchestras rehearse digital film scores, your talent keeps the art alive. We believe in the power of transcription, not just as a technical process but as an artistic responsibility. In this role, you are not just interpreting notes; you're preserving legacies. Ready to Transcribe Your Future? This is more than a job—it's a calling for detail-oriented creators who hear beyond the beat and want their work to resonate.
