ServiceNow Developer (Warsaw, 80% remote) – Public Organisations

About the position

This role is for a ServiceNow Developer to work with Public Organisations, specifically Frontex. The position requires a strong understanding of the ServiceNow platform, including development, configuration, and administration. The developer will be responsible for implementing new functionalities, maintaining the platform, and ensuring its integration with Frontex systems. The role involves working on development projects, performing code reviews, and creating technical documentation. Additionally, the developer will be involved in platform improvements, providing recommendations, and supporting architects and administrators in design and planning.

Responsibilities

  • Implementing new configurations and customizations of ServiceNow platform.
  • Analysing and advising on requests for implementation of new functionalities of ServiceNow platform.
  • Testing and validating proposed changes.
  • Writing and implementing written code to ServiceNow platform.
  • Running development projects in cooperation with ServiceNow Architect and Administrator.
  • Performing application and code reviews to ensure system integrity.
  • Maintaining up to date solution documentation including technical documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), user manuals, knowledge base articles etc.
  • Managing and maintaining ServiceNow instance, including all files and services on which the instance is built (binaries, configuration, key stores, tomcat, java, local backup, performance tuning etc.) ensuring functionality and security compliance.
  • Maintaining ServiceNow up to date, upgrade and apply application patches.
  • Ensuring proper ServiceNow integration with Frontex systems.
  • Managing and maintaining MariaDB database files and services used by ServiceNow.
  • Providing daily support for the ServiceNow platform implementing standard changes.
  • Maintaining current configurations and customizations of ServiceNow platform.
  • Analyse and resolve application related incidents and perform bug fixes.
  • Providing recommendations to business requirements and contributing to technical designs.
  • Supporting ServiceNow Architect and ServiceNow Administrator in designing solution architecture and administration.
  • Supporting ServiceNow projects planning.
  • Supporting other teams in risk management, disaster recovery, security management, etc.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of IT relevant experience.
  • Minimum 2 years in relevant roles.
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer certificate.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator certificate.
  • Or an equivalent alternative certification from other vendors recognized internationally (subject to acceptance as a valid credential by the Contracting Authority).
  • Excellent practical hands-on experience administering and maintaining ServiceNow platform.
  • Excellent practical hands-on experience configuring ServiceNow platform (ITSM and others).
  • Practical hands-on experience designing ServiceNow platform solutions.
  • Excellent practical hands-on experience with requirements gathering, analysis and project management.
  • Excellent practical knowledge of ServiceNow products portfolio.
  • Excellent practical knowledge of Service Management.
  • Knowledge of key technologies for ServiceNow integration (Web Services, SSO, LDAP, REST, etc.).
  • Well understanding of complex information systems and their interoperability.
  • Knowledge of IT security standards.
  • Very strong sense of responsibility.
  • Accuracy and attention to details.
  • Open minded, excellent troubleshooting, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Very good organizational skills.
  • Very good communication skills.
  • Supportive and helpful personality with co-operative and service oriented attitude.
  • Ability to work in stressful environment with minimal supervision.

  • High level of motivation and initiative.
  • Minimum English language skills: B2.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with on-prem ServiceNow will be advantageous.
  • Experience in creating SOPs and other technical documentation.
