TheSoul Group is launching the YouTube channel for an established TV series in the food and outdoor space, bringing its content to a new digital audience.

YouTube is the main stage, and views and subscribers are the KPIs that matter most. TikTok, Instagram and Facebook grow alongside it, both as channels in their own right and as a way to send viewers to YouTube.

As our YouTube Strategist & Channel Manager, you'll set the strategy and run the channel day to day. You read the data, decide what comes next, and work hand in hand with a dedicated editor so every new video builds on what performs.

Strategy & data

  • Track channel performance weekly: views, subscribers, retention, CTR, traffic sources and returning viewers
  • Turn insights into clear, data-led briefs for the editor: which topics and moments to use, which hooks to test, what length works best
  • Find the formats and topics the audience responds to, and adjust the plan to match
  • Lead the channel to YouTube monetisation eligibility and track progress against it

Running the channel

  • Support the channel and account setup for a US audience; set up playlists, keywords and a standard for titles and descriptions
  • Own the publishing calendar: 2 long-form videos and 14 Shorts a week on YouTube, plus regular posting on TikTok, Instagram and Facebook
  • Grow TikTok, Instagram and Facebook: adapt content per platform and test formats, posting times and captions
  • Write titles, descriptions and captions; brief thumbnails and A/B test them every week
  • Refresh underperforming videos with a new title, thumbnail or opening
  • Spot trends early and bring relevant ideas into the plan
  • Prepare cuts for client review and approval in Frame.io

Community

  • Manage comments and messages across all platforms daily
  • Build an engaged community and turn recurring questions and feedback into content ideas

Requirements

  • 3+ years growing YouTube channels hands-on, both long-form and Shorts, with before-and-after numbers to show for it
  • Strong analytics skills, and the ability to turn data into clear creative direction for an editor
  • Comfortable owning both strategy and daily execution: posting, copywriting, titles and community management
  • Hands-on experience growing TikTok and Instagram accounts, including setting up accounts for a specific country
  • Highly organised: able to run a high-volume calendar with client approvals
  • Senior enough to work directly with the client: explaining and defending decisions and handling feedback with confidence
  • Available for a couple of hours' overlap with US Pacific time when needed
  • Experience turning existing TV, film or podcast content into YouTube content (a strong plus)
  • Background in food, travel or outdoor niches
  • Knowledge of YouTube's advertiser-friendly guidelines for hunting, fishing and animal-processing footage
  • Experience with brand integrations
  • Fluent English

2. HOW DO YOU USE THE DIFFERENT COMMUNICATION TOOLS IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS?

When you're working on a remote team, there's no way to chat in the hallway between meetings or catch up on the latest project during an office carpool. Therefore, virtual communication will be absolutely essential to get your work done...

5. HOW DO YOU PROCESS INFORMATION?

Several years ago, I was working in a team to plan a big event. My supervisor made us all work as a team before the big day. One of our activities has been to find out how each of us processes information...

7. HOW DO YOU ORGANIZE FILES, LINKS, AND TABS ON YOUR COMPUTER?

Just like your schedule, how you track files and other information is very important. After all, everything is digital!...

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?

This is a great question because it shows your comfort level with technology, which is very important for a remote worker because you will be working with technology over time...
