Job Description

  • Schedule: 40 hours per week, Varied shift, Monday - Friday, Rotating weekends
  • Sign on bonus: Eligible
  • Department: Surgery

The Certified Surgical Technologist facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures by preparing the surgical operating suite with sterile drapes, sterile solutions, and appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies. Throughout the surgical procedure, the technologist hands required and requested instruments and supplies to the surgeon while maintaining instruments in an organized manner and monitoring and tracking instrument counts to ensure accuracy. Additionally, the technologist assists with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients to support optimal surgical outcomes and maintain the highest standards of patient care and safety.


Qualifications

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
