Part-Time Remote Bookkeeper

Overview

We’re looking to add an experienced part-time bookkeeper to join a growing virtual firm.

This is a remote, hands-on bookkeeping role for a US based person who enjoys collaborating with others and solving problems. Are you a detailed-oriented problem solver who enjoys recurring client work, month-end close, reconciliations, clean ups, and getting books review-ready? I’m looking for someone who enjoys the client work itself is dependable and self-managed.

The Position: Bookkeeper

Type of Position:

  • Part-time, Contractor
  • 5 - 10 hours per week
  • Pay to be discussed during the interview process
  • Start Date flexible, but looking to bring on someone soon

Responsibilities

  • Categorize and record financial transactions in QuickBooks Online
  • Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards, troubleshooting any errors
  • Ensure the accuracy of all recorded transactions
  • Request documentation and information from clients through our practice management platform (Double), following up consistently
  • Maintain accurate records and information about each client
  • One-off bookkeeping tasks and cleanup projects as needed
  • Perform month-end close with accuracy
  • Create and update SOPs (standard operating procedures) as needed for your role and duties
  • Stay updated with accounting principles, practices, regulations, and fundamentals
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information and handle sensitive data appropriately
  • Bi-weekly team meetings

Requirements

  • Degree in finance/accounting, Bookkeeper Launch certification, OR 2+ years of relevant bookkeeping experience
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and/or Xero
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace, Asana, or similar tools (experience with Double a plus, but not required)
  • Comfortable adopting a time-tracking tool and password manager as part of the workflow
  • Functional home office with reliable internet
  • Willingness to carry your own insurance and sign an NDA (required given access to client financial data)
  • Must reside in the US
