Manager, Vocational Rehab – Virtual
Job Description:
- Manage a team of Vocational Rehabilitation Specialists providing return-to-work services across STD and LTD
- Oversee forensic employability assessments and occupational analysis
- Ensure the team achieves or exceeds KPIs through observation, coaching, and data-driven insight
- Monitor, analyze, and report on team KPIs using Excel to identify trends and communicate performance
- Champion more effective and creative approaches to help claimants return to work
- Advance vocational rehabilitation best practices across the team
- Lead the team through process and organizational change while sustaining results, service quality, and morale
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders across all organizational levels
- Teach, coach, and guide new vocational counselors
- Model efficient daily use of AI tools
- Participate in or lead unit and cross-functional initiatives
- Provide vocational subject-matter expertise in sales and customer retention cycles
- Recruit, hire, and onboard diverse talent
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in vocational rehabilitation or a related field
- Certification as a Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) required
- Recognized expertise in the vocational rehabilitation field
- Demonstrated leadership experience/capabilities or demonstrated aptitude for leading a team of professionals in the disability insurance industry
- Proficiency in KPI reporting and analysis
- Excellent Excel skills, including formulas, graphs, tables, and charts
- Confident, adaptable approach to change
- Comfort with the daily use of AI tools
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience working with cross-functional business partners in claims, distribution, product, and other expert resources
- Experience working with small to national-level customers in the execution of critical services
- Track record of innovation and strong results
- ADA certification and experience preferred
- Previous ADA or RTW case management experience preferred
- 3–5 years of leadership experience preferred
