Remote Fleet Manager - Logistics Optimization

About the Role Our client, a forward-thinking national logistics provider, is seeking an experienced Remote Fleet Manager to oversee and optimize fleet operations from anywhere in the country. This is a fully remote position, offering the ultimate flexibility for talented logistics professionals. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency, safety, and profitability of our client's fleet, managing all aspects of operations remotely. Key Responsibilities Manage and oversee the daily operations of a diverse fleet of commercial vehicles remotely. Develop and implement strategies to optimize fleet performance, reduce operational costs, and improve fuel efficiency. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations. Monitor driver performance, conduct regular reviews, and provide coaching to ensure safety and efficiency. Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules, coordinating repairs and preventative care to minimize downtime. Utilize fleet management software and data analytics to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify areas for improvement. Manage relationships with third-party vendors, including maintenance providers and parts suppliers. Develop and implement safety programs to foster a culture of safety across the fleet. Respond to and manage any incidents or emergencies related to fleet operations. Collaborate with internal teams, such as dispatch and operations, to ensure seamless coordination. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, OR equivalent industry experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management or a similar logistics leadership role. Proven track record of successfully managing large commercial fleets and optimizing operations. In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations, safety standards, and transportation laws. Proficiency with fleet management software, telematics systems, and data analysis tools. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and make sound decisions in a remote capacity. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Must have a reliable internet connection and a dedicated home office environment. Experience with cost control and budget management within fleet operations.
